Welcome!

Welcome to my blog!  My name is Katie and I am a 30-ish mechanical engineer with a side interest in all things crafty (sewing, quilting, building, scrapbooking, etc!).

I am starting up this blog so in order to better participate in a quilt-along- I am so excited to join in the "Deep in the Heart of Texas Quilt Along"!  I recently moved and need some kind of wall hanging in my sewing room, so I am going to create the quilt at half-scale (so it will be 33" square instead of 66" square) and hang it on my wall.

My inspiration fabric is this  "Moda Wildflowers IV" fabric, it is one of my favorite fabrics ever and perfect for this Texas themed quilt.

I made a quilt in the past with this fabric for my in-laws, I am going to use scraps from that as well as some new fabrics for this project.  That quilt was a Lone Star quilt (another appropriate use of the Texas wildflowers fabric).

Here is the fabric that I plan on using, I may switch out the blue, I have a fabric order coming in the mail later this week so I will decide for sure then!
